Here the monster is enraged that Victor destroyed his new companion. This new creation was the monster’s only hope to have someone that would be kind to him. When Victor destroyed it the monster felt completely crushed and lost all hope that he will ever find happiness. It is very sad that our society has made us depend on other people to make us happy. Yet it is in our blood to feed off other people and are in desperate need of companionship. Without it we are indeed lost. Therefore, this is merely something we all cannot live without.
